Our mission is to advance research and practice in hazard mitigation and urban coastal preparedness. Our objective is to minimize human and economic costs in extreme events through systems-based decision models for policy making and investment. The CCP@NYU Fast Track approach will speed the translation from research to application so that stakeholders are prepared for extreme weather events, realizing the goal of a flood resilient City. We leverage our network of capabilities in hydrological, ecological, physical, and social sciences to insure reliable and sustainable management of New York’s coastal regions. The Center will engage academic, industry, nonprofit and government partners with the aim of enhancing the resiliency of the region’s lifeline and infrastructure systems.
